Cebu Ocean Park: The Region’s First and Only Marine Theme Park

Cebu Ocean Park, the newest and largest oceanarium in the Philippines has started welcoming park-goers when they soft opened last August 24. The latest addition to Cebu’s many tourist attractions, the park offers something new to locals and tourists alike as it is the first and only marine theme park in the region.

Envisioned and brought to life by the same team of experts who brought us the highly successful Manila Ocean Park, the new park boasts of world-class attractions housed in a sprawling 1.5-hectare complex that can accommodate up to 3,000 guests.

Attractions of Cebu Ocean Park

1. Oceanarium

The largest and deepest aquarium in the Philippines, the Oceanarium is Cebu Ocean Park’s main attraction. It has 3,500 cubic meters of seawater and a water depth of 72 meters, housing a diverse collection of marine species. It also features a 360-degree viewing tunnel that takes guests to the breathtaking underwater world without having to get wet. Some of the beautiful marine creatures that grace the Oceanarium are sharks, rays, and reef fish, among many others.

2. Sea Trek

Just as the name suggests, this attraction lets guests trek underwater so they can enjoy close encounters with thousands of sea creatures. Helmets that allow breathing underwater are provided and a qualified diving instructor is always present so that everyone, including kids and non-swimmers, can enjoy the attraction. The park also has full diving suits available for rent with no extra charge so that guests can enjoy Sea Trek without the hassle of bringing their diving gear.

3. Stingray Interaction

This attraction allows guests to have an exciting interactive experience with stingrays. Here, guests can enjoy feeding and petting these majestic sea creatures in a waist-deep outdoor pool. For guests without swimwear or for those who simply don’t want to get wet, a Stingray Dry Interaction is also available where guests can feel the stingrays at a touch pool area.

4. Fish Spa

Guests here can enjoy a different kind of spa experience where they are given a tickling foot micro-massage by toothless doctor fish. The attraction features a tank where guests can immerse their feet in and watch as hundreds of therapeutic fish feast on their dead skin cells. The Fish Spa also helps in exfoliating the skin and improves blood circulation.

5. Crocodile Cage

Thrill-seekers are sure to have a fun time in this exciting attraction that lets guests get up close and personal with a 14-foot crocodile. The Crocodile Cage can be enjoyed by daring adventurers as young as 10 years old.

6. Jungle Trek

Guests can explore the enchanting wonders of the forest at the Jungle Trek. This attraction features an incredible collection of freshwater fish and other wildlife species. Viewing river giants and feeding lories and lorikeets can also be enjoyed in this attraction.

7. Creepy Critters

The Creepy Critters exhibit challenges guests to conquer their fear of snakes and spiders as they take center stage in this attraction. Creepy Critters features different species of native and exotic reptiles and insects.

8. Bird Feeding

Guests who love birds can enjoy feeding and interacting with colorful Australian lorikeets in this attraction.

9. Multi-animal Show

Cebu Ocean Park’s Multi-animal Show is highly entertaining and very educational at the same time. Watch amazing performances from its amusing cast of animals featuring penguins, sea lions, and many others.
