The Best Nightspots in Metro Cebu

Cebu is a bustling city in the Visayas Island. It is known as the “Queen City of the South” and is undoubtedly the second largest air transportation hub, following Metro Manila or Metropolitan Manila. It is a popular destination for foreigners and has the busiest seaport in the country.

The city allows direct access to selected international flights. This means that without having to land in Manila, international flights bound for Kalibo can go straight to Mactan International Airport (in Cebu) for landing.

And as a city with innumerable foreign visitors, business people and investors, the city had made its environment more inviting and pleasurable for the guests they are trying to nurture – with more nightspots as if catching up with its counterpart in the capital city of Manila. And because of the growing business communities in Cebu, many of which are of international operations, the city provided support by making lives comfortable and giving them the appropriate venues to unwind, relax and rejuvenate.

Some of the popular nightspots in Cebu are:

Cebu IT Park

This was formerly known as Asiatown IT Park – the best area to experience Cebu’s nightlife. This the BPO hub of Cebu where most Call Centers are operating with exceptional English speakers. At any time of the day, this place has people drinking and partying. Party goers are ready by 10:00 pm when most of the party venues start to open and stay open until 5:00 am of the following day. Weekends are crowded and would be difficult to get tables if you did not make prior reservation. The famous clubs in the area are Penthouse and the Loft. IT Park caters to the middle to upper economic class.

Mango Square in Mango Avenue

This is another popular nightlife venue in Cebu – with lots of pubs and bars. Like the other nightspots, weekday crowds are manageable and tolerable, but come weekend, the place is filled to the rafters. Foreigners are extra fond of this place because of the presence of pretty girls wandering about. Mango Square is a hit for the low to middle income earners. And because of the myriad of activities happening in this place, incidents of swindlers of foreigners are usually making their hefty profits here. Partying starts at 10:00 pm and ending at the wee hours in the morning (until 6:00 am of the following day).

Crossroads

This is very near IT Park and Mango Avenue. Drive 3 minutes from IT Park and you’ll be at Crossroads. Drive 10 minutes from Mango Avenue and Crossroads is where you’ll be. This place is a good alternative for some upscale nightlife. VuDu – a dressy party club where you can go dancing is where you’ll find Maya – a Mexican-inspired resto-bar and Family KTV. VuDu is for the much younger crowd dominating the scene. Party starts as early as 9:00 pm and who knows when it ends.

The Outpost

This is for band-loving crowd who would be ecstatic listening to acoustic sessions of the different bands in Cebu. This is for the more casual crowd as the venue requires no dress code. The place is open from 6:00 pm to 2:00 am.

The Terraces

This is about posh international restaurants and homegrown dining venues in al-fresco setting. This is the favorite hangout of those who want to unwind on weekends – enjoying its cool ambience, calming fountains and beautifully-landscaped lush gardens. Upscale coffee shops and restaurants define the area.
